The 60-acre Story Mill Community Park, acquired through the 2012 Trails, Open Space and Park bond fund, was developed in partnership with the Trust for Public Land. The northern portion of the park features an adventure playground, picnic pavilions, scenic overlook, amphitheater, gardens, and a community center. The southern portion of the park will remain a natural area with restored wetlands accessible by trails and boardwalks with bird and wildlife watching opportunities. At Story Mill Community Park dogs are welcome on-leash in most areas, except in the Nature Sanctuary where dogs are prohibited. Dogs are welcome on-leash in the northern portion of the park and off-leash in the West Paw Dog Park.

Construction of park amenities began in 2017 and a grand opening was held July 20, 2019.  Further description and illustrations of the proposed park may be found on the Trust for Public Land webpage.
