How To Find Your Next Court Date

The steps below will show you how to find your next court date using the Montana Court Public Access Portal

You can find rules for access as well as additional instructions on how to use the public access portal on their main page, including a Public Portal Instructional Video

1. Go to the Limited Jurisdiction Courts Public Access Portal

2.At the bottom of the page, under COURT, select the proper court from the drop-down menu. Then, click LOG IN. There are no user names or passwords necessary for the Public Portal.

3. At the top, click on SEARCHES then CASE SEARCHES then BY PARTY.

4. Enter your LAST name and your FIRST name. Then, click SEARCH

5. Find your NAME and CASE, then click on the case number.

6. Click on the HEARINGS tab on left side of the screen.

7. These are your scheduled hearings in the selected court/case ONLY. The next hearing that you need to be present for will be listed towards the end of the list. The next hearing that you need to be present for will be the one in the list that has no result listed. In some cases, you may have multiple hearings scheduled (such as a motions hearing, jury confirmation, and jury trial). You must appear for the next upcoming hearing and may not skip any hearings simply because you have other hearings set in the future.  

If you have multiple pending cases in the Bozeman Municipal Court, make sure that you check each case for the next hearing. 

If you have cases pending in another court, you will need to search the appropriate portal for those hearings.
