About the Economic Development Department
The City of Bozeman’s Economic Development Department works to strengthen our economic well-being and quality of life by supporting good-paying jobs, growing local incomes, and diversifying our local economy.
Our department includes an Urban Renewal division focused on improving deteriorating areas using Tax Increment Financing to make it easier to develop and grow economically, and a Community Housing division aimed at increasing the number of homes that those in Bozeman can afford to purchase or rent. Both divisions support our overall goal of increasing the economic well-being of our residents.
Economic Development Strategy
The City of Bozeman has an 2023 Economic Development Strategy (PDF). The plan includes specific actions for strengthening our economic base and our community.
We use data to monitor how our local economy is doing. The 2025 Economic and Market Update (PDF) provides an overview of the City of Bozeman and Gallatin County economy, key growth trends, commercial real estate trends, and the housing market and housing demand.
