The Water Treatment Plant provides the citizens of Bozeman with a safe and dependable drinking water supply. The City of Bozeman has been supplying water to city residents since 1889. The City of Bozeman has won the Montana Best Tasting Tap Water Challenge in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023, along with placing third in the national tap water taste test challenge in 2019 and 2021.

For quality assurance, Water Treatment Plant division employees conduct water quality sampling and testing schedule at the plants and in the distribution system. Water Plant employees are also responsible for the care and maintenance of the four finished water storage tanks.
