The SMCC gym is available for drop-in open play sessions throughout the year. Equipment is provided (or bring your own) for badminton, ping pong, pickleball, youth basketball, adult basketball and more.  Our open play sessions are a great opportunity to try a new skill or hone one you already have. All are welcome and your first time is FREE.

Schedules and fees will be posted monthly. Days and times may vary depending on Parks and Recreation program schedules. Additional sports may be added. Punch cards available for purchase or drop-in rate is $5 City of Bozeman resident; $7 nonresident.

The schedule below reflects Open Play Sessions. This calendar does not display all open availability and Parks and Recreation programming.

*Important update: The gym currently only has two courts available until further notice.

Punch Cards

12 punches for the price of 10! Punch cards can be purchased online at the Recreation Registration website or in person at Story Mill Community Center (600 Bridger Drive) during office hours Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 9:00am to 2:00pm. Punch cards are applicable for adult open-play programming. 

Resident fee: $50

Nonresident fee: $70

Pickleball Court Rules

  • If courts are full and players are waiting, limit play to one game to 11 then rotate out with waiting players
  • Waiting players, put your initials on the white board behind the court you wish to play on and rotate in when the game ends
  • Remain in the spectator area while waiting on your turn to play and limit on court warmup to no more than 5 minutes
  • Be inclusive of all people and ability levels and play respectfully
