Rebate Information 

The City of Bozeman is offering a $500 rebate program for water customers who install a qualifying electric heat pump water heater (HPWH). Customers can receive an additional $75 for participating in a satisfaction survey following the installation.

Rebates apply only to newly purchased electric heat pump water heater units that are included on NEEA's Residential HPWH Qualified Product List.

NorthWestern Energy Also Offers A Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate

NorthWestern Energy offers a rebate of up to $3,000 for replacing an old electric water heater with an electric heat pump hot water heater. Their rebate is offered through participating plumbing contractors and is available to NorthWestern Energy customers in Montana, not just City of Bozeman residents. NorthWestern Energy also uses NEEA's Residential HPWH Qualified Product List to determine eligible products. 

If you happen to be replacing an electric water heater with an electric heat pump water heater using a participating plumbing contractor, you may qualify for the rebate offered by the City of Bozeman as well as the rebate offered by NorthWestern Energy!
